Scottsdale Academy is a Gold Seal accredited childcare and preschool in Tallahassee, FL. We’ve built a place where kids actually want to be — a true “other home” where they feel safe, loved, and ready to learn.
We serve infants through VPK at two locations across Tallahassee: Mahan at Fallschase and Southwood.

6 weeks to 12 months
Leaving your infant with someone else for the first time is one of the hardest things a parent does. We know that. Our infant classroom was built around that exact feeling — to give you peace of mind and give your baby a warm, safe, nurturing place to grow.
1 to 2 years
Toddlers are in one of the most exciting — and busiest — stages of development. They’re walking, talking and discovering what they can do. Then they’re two, and suddenly language is exploding, independence is a real thing, and they’re figuring out how to play with other kids.
3 to 4 years
Preschoolers are full of energy, curiosity, and big ideas! They’re talking more every day, learning to do things on their own, and discovering how much fun it is to play with friends. It’s an exciting time as they grow, learn, and explore the world around them.
4 to 5 years
Florida offers Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) — a free, state-funded program for eligible 4-year-olds. It’s one of the best investments you can make in your child’s readiness for kindergarten. At Scottsdale Academy, VPK isn’t an add-on. It’s taught by our same qualified, experienced teachers using the same engaging curriculum that defines everything we do.
We're recognized as a Florida Gold Seal Quality Program — one of the highest honors a childcare center can earn in Florida. It means we've been independently verified to meet the highest standards for safety, curriculum, and staff.
Our facility was designed specifically for children. Every room, every hallway, every outdoor space was laid out to maximize learning opportunities throughout the day.
We use the Beyond Centers and Circle Time® (BCCT) curriculum — a research-based approach where kids learn through play. We call it "strategic fun." They think they're playing. They're actually learning.
Our teachers hold Bachelor's degrees in Early Childhood Development, Child Development Associate credentials, or 45 hours of DCF coursework. As well as higher standards of annual inservice training.
